Eluned King rounded off her superb weekend at the Youth Tour of London with both the stage win and general classification title in the Under 16 Girls A.

The Welsh rider had narrowly pipped compatriots Danielle Parker and Emma Finucane to the circuit race win on the first day and continued her dominant form in Kent.

Towy Riders’ King and Abi Smith of Clifton CC made a break at the four-lap stage as they went for the prime points and stayed out ahead of the chasing pack for the remainder of the race.

King was pushed all the way by Smith over the four stages, eventually finishing 27 seconds ahead in the general classification.

PH-MAS/Paul Milnes Cycles’ Millie Couzens took third place in the stage and third overall.

Sunday best for Pidcock

PH-MAS/Paul Milnes Cycles’ Joseph Pidcock started the day at Kent’s Cyclopark second in the general classification but finished it with the Under 16 Boys A winner’s medal.

Pidcock had lost out to Wold Top Actif RT’s Finlay Pickering in Redbridge on Saturday but came from behind for the win on day two.

The race got off to a quick start, with constant attacks in the early stages, none of which seemed to stick.

With half the race gone the group were all evenly matched and bunched and it was an attack by Matthew Kingston and Pidcock that changed the race.

The breakaway gradually built up a 34 second lead which they held until the finish where Pidcock eased up and allowed Kingston to take the stage win - with Pidcock taking the general classification top spot.
