Reigning HSBC UK | National Circuit champion Tom Pidcock has today announced that he will be defending his title when the showpiece event rolls in to Stockton next month.

The Team WIGGINS rider was just 17 at the time of his sensational victory in Sheffield last year, and after some strong performances already this year – including victory at the East Cleveland Klondike – he will be hoping to repeat the feat again on July 13.

Speaking ahead of the championships, Pidcock said:

“I’m delighted to be riding at this year’s HSBC UK | National Circuit Championships in Stockton on what I know is a fantastic course.

“Taking the victory in Sheffield last year was one of the highlights of my career to date, and I’m sure the crowds in Stockton will make next month’s championships another experience to savour.”

In his short career to date Pidcock has already enjoyed the kind of success most riders can already dream of, being crowned junior world champion in both road and cyclo-cross disciplines, while also claiming victory in the prestigious Paris-Roubaix Juniors.

This year’s HSBC UK | National Circuit Championships will kick off the hugely popular Stockton Cycling Festival, which is now in its eighth year. Following Friday’s circuit races, Saturday will see a mass participation sportive event, but elite riders again take to the town’s streets on Sunday to compete in the HSBC UK | Grand Prix Series.

Full details of the festival, and how to enter the sportive, are available here.

A full rider list will be announced in due course.
