Name:

Jacob Hennessy

Hometown:

St Neots, Cambridge

Your discipline:

Men's road endurance

What are your earliest memories of cycling?

Getting dropped by my local club when I went riding without eating breakfast or taking food. You never forget your first proper blow out!

When did you know cycling could be a career for you?

Last year when I got selected to ride for the Great Britain Cycling Team

Describe your favourite bike ride:

Four plus hours in sunshine with a good group at a decent pace, with a few climbs and sprints for town signs.

Who is your cycling hero/idol?

Tom Boonen or Nino Schurter

What are your goals and aspirations?

I'd love to make it to world tour and race the classics and worlds as an elite. But the big dream is to win those races.

What’s the best thing about being a cyclist?

The lifestyle when you're training and eating and resting. Just going through the motions with a vision of your goals and the freedom to pursue them.

…and the worst thing?

Crashing!

If you had 24 hours anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do?

At home with my mates having a barbeque by the river and just spending the day with them.

If you had to choose another sport, what would it be and why?

Motocross, always has and will continue to be a huge passion of mine. That and running.

If you could invite 5 people (dead or alive) over for dinner, who would they be and what would you cook?

Sir David Attenborough, Sir Bradley Wiggins, John Cleese, Noel Fielding and Travis Pastrana. I'd 'cook' alphabet spaghetti!
