Britain's Tom Pidcock wins Paris-Roubaix Juniors

Tom Pidcock soloed to a stunning victory for the Great Britain Cycling Team at Paris-Roubaix Juniors on Sunday.

The British, European and world junior cyclo-cross champion joined the leading group with 16km of the 111km race remaining, before attacking alone to become the third British rider to win the race.

The 17-year-old British Cycling Junior Academy rider follows in the footsteps of Geraint Thomas (2004) and Andy Fenn (2008).

After the race, which featured 16 cobbled sectors, Pidcock told Cycling Weekly: “It’s a special race isn’t it?"

"To win the junior race it shows that you might be pretty good in your future career, it’s pretty special.”
