There were some encouraging early season performances from members of the Great Britain Cycling Team at the Verola and Brixia Para-cycling Cups in Italy.

Karen Darke and Simon Price took their fine form from the British Cycling Para-cycling Time Trial and Road Circuit Championships to take victories in both the time trial and road races in Verola in the women’s H3 and men’s C2 classifications respectively.

Hannah Dines took second place in the road race and third in the women’s T2 time - trial while Craig McCann achieved third place finishes in the men’s T2 time-trial and road races.

Dines, Darke and McCann then moved on to the event in Brixia and there were podium finishes for all the riders once again. Dines achieved second place finishes in both the road race and time-trial, Darke took second in the time-trial and third in the road race, while Craig McCann won bronze in both events.

All four riders will now turn their attention to the Belgian UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup from 20-22 May in Ostend.
