Connor Hudson and Natasha Bradley kicked off the 2016 British Cycling MTB Four Cross Series with elite wins in the opening round at Chicksands.

On the return to the iconic fast and flowing Bedfordshire track, in glorious Spring sunshine, Hudson and Bradley took the top step on the podium and the early lead in the series.

In the women’s final, Bradley, fresh from fine form in the motos, got the holeshot and despite a strong showing from Megan Wherry and Hannah Escott, was able to hold the lead and take the win.

Hudson also got the holeshot in the men’s elite final, but was closely followed by Nathan Parsons, Richard Swales and Aaron Dalleywater. Hudson managed to avoid a coming together between Parsons and Dalleywater to take the win, and his first ever British Cycling MTB Four Cross Series victory.

The series continues with round two at Afan in South Wales from 30 April to 1 May.
