The 2015 British BMX Series reaches its climax on the weekend of 8-9 August as Birmingham’s Perry Park hosts the final two rounds of the exciting ten-part series.

So far the series has visited Manchester’s National Cycling Centre, Kent’s Cyclopark and Cumbernauld’s newly-built track before the penultimate meeting in June at London’s Burgess Park.

2015 British BMX Series - Stack, Batey and Sharrock on the podium

Standings

Perry Park is set for a showdown between Burnham BMX Club’s Ryan Stack and Mid Lancs BMX’s Paddy Sharrock, who have been trading blows since the beginning of the ten-round series. Stack leads with 679 points to Sharrock’s 646, but with a maximum of 100 points on offer in each round, roles could easily be reversed after Sunday’s final reckoning.

Sharrock will need to watch his back however, with third-placed Kelvin Batey of Warsop Wheelies BMX Club just in touch on 579 points.

The points situation could be further complicated by the presence of a number of big names on the Perry Park start list. Curtis Manaton will be there, the talented Burnham rider having dominated rounds five and six in Cumbernauld.

Great Britain Cycling Team Olympic Podium Programme rider Kyle Evans is also on the list, as is Senior Academy athlete Quillan Isidore. While neither figures in the series standings, they both have the ability to steal valuable points from Sharrock, Stack and Batey.

Championship women

Abbie Taylor and Charlotte Green on the podium in London.

Standings

The two-way fight for title honours between Blaine Ridge-Davis and Katurah Davidson will go down to the wire in Birmingham, the Peckham Challengers BMX Club pair separated by just one point after eight rounds of racing. On 735 and 734 points respectively, Ridge-Davis and Davidson have pushed each other hard all season.

Behind Burnham’s Lauren Stack will need a strong two rounds to keep hold of the final place on the podium; with Birmingham BMX Club’s Charlie Hartwell just 12 points adrift and with home advantage on her side.

However, as in the elite men’s event, the bumper finale has attracted the big names; Cornwall BMX Club’s Charlotte Green and Sheffield Dirt Society’s Abbie Taylor both on the start list.

The venue

Birmingham BMX Club play host to the series finale, their home the spectacular Perry Park track. The world-class venue is a direct legacy of the 2012 UCI BMX World Championships, which saw the world’s best descend upon the venue in the year of the London Olympics.

Since then, the track has been a regular fixture on the British BMX Series schedule.

How to follow the racing

A report from the weekend’s racing with results and an image gallery will appear on the British Cycling website.
