A fund has been set up to support the family of cyclist Craig Armitage, who died following an incident near Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire on Sunday February 15.

Tributes have been paid to the 44-year-old throughout the cycling community. Hundreds of cyclists recently took part in a remembrance ride for Craig, with a minute’s silence preceding a 14-mile cycle through Otley.

The memorial fund ‘Goodbye Craig’ has been set up to support his family. Anyone interested in donating to Goodbye Craig can do so via www.gofundme.com/goodbyecraig.

British Cycling president Bob Howden said: “Craig was a well-known figure in Yorkshire where he gave a great deal to cycling and where his loss continues to be keenly felt. But this tragedy has touched huge numbers of people involved in our sport across the country.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and further details can be found via North Yorkshire Police here: http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/15054
