While the supermarkets are hell bent on selling barbeques, Union Jack deck chairs and cut price cases of beer this Jubilee Bank Holiday, many cyclists will see four consecutive days off as an ideal opportunity to feast on cycling instead.

With this in mind, we’ve pulled together a quick guide to what’s on over the weekend, whether you want to watch, participate or just get out and enjoy the Great British countryside on this most patriotic of weekends.

Saturday 2 June
Tour of Luxembourg – If you want to start the weekend off with a bit of alternative flag waving, tune into Eurosport and support British riders Ben Swift, Alex Dowsett and Luke Rowe taking part in the Tour of Luxembourg. Saturday’s test for our Brits will be the 205.4km stage from Eschweiler to Differdange. The race continues on Sunday and concludes on Bank Holiday Monday.
Richmond Cycling Club Sportive – If flag waving and street parties aren’t your thing, escape to Richmond for 55, 80 or 100 miles in North Yorkshire. Places are still available if you’re quick.
Sunday 3 June
Criterium Dauphine –Bradley Wiggins will be flying the flag on Sunday at the opening Prologue of the Criterium Dauphine, at which the Team Sky rider triumphed in 2011. Commandeer the TV and cheer on Bradley and the team on the 5.7km TT stage in Grenoble. The race continues until Sunday 10 June – coverage on Eurosport and our Brits Abroad page.
Wiggle Magnificat Sportive – Based at Newbury Racecourse and featuring ride lengths for everyone from kids to old pros, the Magnificat exploits the top drawer riding country of the Berkshire Downs and promises a festival of cycling fit for the Jubilee weekend. Online entries are closed but entry is available on the day.
Kingston Lacy Sportive - The sportive starts from the stately grounds of the National Trust Kingston Lacy house in Devon and follows the private estate round out on to classic English country lanes. What better way to celebrate English heritage on the Diamond Jubilee?
Malvern Views Sportive - The sportive route winds its way through the picturesque countryside surrounding the Malvern Hills, with six featured climbs including Hollybush, Evendine Lane and Snailbank, totalling some 1440 metres of climbing and giving some stunning views across the local landscape. Entries are available on the day.
Sky Ride Bath - Join us for a fantastic traffic-free bike ride through Bath where everyone's invited. It's a great opportunity to experience some of the city's highlights in a very special atmosphere. Our route will take in the best of Bath's famous historic landmarks, including the Crescent and its wonderful green spaces.
Monday 4 June
Criterium Dauphine - Stage 1: Seyssins - Saint-Vallier 187km – Will Wiggins be in yellow for the first stage proper of the 2012 Dauphine? Tune in to Eurosport and find out.
Tuesday 5 June
Tour Series – Torquay – If you love fast and furious crit racing then head to Torquay for Round 8 of the Halfords Tour Series, featuring the cream of British road racing talent battling it out for individual and team supremacy.
