After an incredible opening weekend of the Commonwealth Games, British Cycling is excited to launch the Ride and Shine campaign to help more people to discover the joy and freedom of riding and racing this summer.

Taking place between Tuesday 2 August and Sunday 11 September, Ride and Shine will see pop-up community events taking place across England, with activities for all ages to enjoy, along with the option to join a group ride or entry-level race. 

Activities include:

• Pop-up community events offering bike hire and check-ups, skills challenges and refreshments in a traffic-free space.
• Guided Rides for all abilities for hassle-free trips with brilliant views and better company. 
• Downloadable routes created by British Cycling and available to follow at your own pace. 
• Fun ways to try racing, with Go-Ride Racing for kids and Go-Race for adults.

Much of the activity is being delivered by our incredible network of cycling clubs and British Cycling volunteers, creating opportunities to discover the friendly and welcoming cycling community in their local area. 

While we have a huge amount planned over the summer to capitalise on the enthusiasm of the Commonwealth Games, activities continue year-round and it is hoped that those who get involved ignite a life-long love of riding their bikes.

To support those just getting started or looking to ride more, we’re running a competition as part of the campaign to win a £1,500 cycling voucher from Halfords. The lucky winner will be able to treat themself or their family to new kit to keep them rolling well beyond the summer of cycling.
