The equipment and venue activation packages support organisations to apply for focused investment to support activation of local opportunities to ride.
How much can you apply for?
The Places to Ride programme will cover 80% of the cost of these packages, in return for a commitment from you to deliver and report on subsequent enabled activity over the next three years.
The exact cost of the equipment package will vary, as there is a core element with the option to add to this depending on the intended outcomes of the project. To provide an idea of cost the core package for the community, club and school package is £1,250.
Who is it for?
We would anticipate that local organisations such as clubs, community groups and schools will be the primary applicants but applications from across organisations are welcomed.
What can we apply for?
Organisations will have the option to apply for either of the following packages:

Encouraging more people to get involved in cycling through the provision of branded delivery material and resources to support fun and engaging activity. Any investment in schools must include community opportunities as well as school use.
It is important to note that for schools the fund cannot be used to simply provide curricular or ‘school-only’ equipment. The Places to Ride programme focus is on extra-curricular activity and therefore links to local clubs, existing cycling facilities, recreational programmes and community activity will be an essential aspect of any successful school awards.
What is expected of you?
The simple application process requires that you provide basic details about the project owner/organisation in addition to project information including a needs assessment, how the equipment will be used and the impact it will have. We will also be asking you to provide usage data over a three-year period.
You should expect to hear within 12 weeks whether your application has been successful.
