The Great Britain Cycling Team is recruiting for a number of new roles as it looks to continue its success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in just over two years’ time.
Great Britain has topped the cycling medal table at each of the last three Olympic and Paralympic Games, thanks in no small part to the dedicated team of support staff working behind the scenes to help riders to fulfil their potential.
Now, British Cycling is looking to develop that support team, with opportunities for experienced, skilled professionals to join the organisation in the roles of Coaching and Leadership Development Manager, Senior Academy Coach – Men’s Endurance, Lead Psychologist, Psychologist and Physiologist.
Great Britain Cycling Team’s Performance Director, Stephen Park, said:
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us as a team. We’re currently midway through an Olympic and Paralympic cycle, and after enjoying some hugely promising post-Rio results, attention is now very much turning to Tokyo, and the work we need to accomplish in the two years between now and the Games.
“The Great Britain Cycling Team has enjoyed well-documented success on the biggest stage, but our philosophy as a team has always been to keep building, keep innovating and keep progressing, and we are certain that these roles will appeal to people who share our passion and determination to ensure we remain at the top.”
The Coaching and Leadership Development Manager is a brand new role with the Great Britain Cycling Team, with the successful candidate required to deliver a coaching and leadership development programme which ensures that all coaches and support staff are developed to operate at the peak of their capabilities.
Park continued:
“We’ve introduced this role to ensure that our staff are both challenged and supported sufficiently, in order to operate with the highest of professional standards when developing riders and colleagues. This is a crucial step in continuing to ensure that we realise the ambitions of our Olympic and Paralympic strategies.”
