British Cycling is pleased to confirm that rounds one and two of the 2017 HSBC UK | BMX National Series will be broadcast live on the Bike Channel.

In what represents a first for the series, all the action from Manchester’s HSBC UK National Cycling Centre over the weekend of March 25 and 26 will be broadcast live, with coverage being fronted by Shanaze Reade.

Reade, who competed in the discipline for Great Britain at London 2012, said:

“It’s super exciting that the Bike Channel will be coming along to broadcast the first HSBC UK |BMX National Series events this season.

"The event will feature some of the most talented young riders and some of the world’s best, racing on one of the sport’s most challenging courses, so it’s sure to be action-packed!”

Andrew Slater, head of marketing and communications at the Bike Channel, added:

“I am delighted to work with British Cycling on this national first for the HSBC UK | BMX National Series.

"As the home of cycling on broadcast television, as well as having a growing digital footprint, Bike Channel aims to help all disciplines of cycling to grow their sport, by taking coverage to as many people as possible.

“We’re delighted to share this vision with British Cycling, and hope it will be the first of many opportunities for more niche disciplines to take their place in the spotlight."

The series runs over 12 rounds over six locations throughout the spring and summer, culminating at Cyclopark, Kent, in August, ahead of the HSBC UK | National BMX Championships.
