  • The British Cycling team works hard to support riders competing on bicycles, tricycles, handcycles and tandems through an experienced talent pathway, to achieve both nationally and internationally in the sport.

Visually Impaired TID

British cycling is looking of the next team of stokers and pilots to continue their world leading success in tandem racing.

The stoker is a rider with some degree of visual impairment, who provides the speed and power to the tandem. The pilot is an able-bodied rider, who guides the tandem.

Tandem bikes tend to race on both the track and on the road, across a number of different events.

What does the TID look like?

  • On Saturday 3rd August and Sunday 4th August 2024, we will be hosting a Talent ID for both stokers and pilots at the home of cycling – The National Cycling Centre in Manchester.
  • We will provide you with the opportunity to test yourself on static bikes and have the chance to develop your skills in tandem riding with the support of our qualified coaches and experience pilots.
