Wales National Velodrome Welcomes Olympic Cycling Team
Welsh Cycling are delighted that British Cycling have chosen Wales National Velodrome for their pre-Olympic training camp. The athletes will be putting the finishing touches to their Bejing preparations prior to the games in Wales, where we are particularly delighted to welcome both Geraint Thomas and Nicole Cooke home.
The camp runs between Thursday July 24th and Sunday August 3rd. All sessions are open to spectators from the stands, although access to the track centre is not permitted. We do not currently have a schedule of which athletes are training and when, although we will publicise this when available. It is suggested the interesting sessions to watch will be between 2 - 6.00pm in the afternoons.
Welsh Cycling would like to encourage members to take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy some of our prospective Olympic medallists in training action, but ask anyone present to respect the occasion and not interrupt riders or coaching staff.
