2007 Welsh Track Championships and Open Events

The 2007 Welsh Track Championships take place on Friday 31st August, Saturday 1st September and Sunday 2nd September
Welsh Championship Titles will be contested over 3 days of racing for Senior, Junior, Women, Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12 categories.
Open events will also be included during the 3 days for riders who are not eligible for Welsh Championships. These will include Team Pursuit, and Team Sprint, plus Individual Pursuit and Kilometre / 500 metre Time Trials. This will enable riders to have a full run out in competition prior to the British National Track Championships in October.
The Youth racing promises to be fast and furious, with riders fresh from their National Track Championship competition the previous week. This will be a great opportunity for any newly crowned Champions to compete in their National Championship Jersey!
With several of the the Youth events already completed at Maindy Cycle Track in June, the U12 and U14 Omnium will consists of the remaining 3 events Sprint, Pursuit and 500m TT. The Under 16 riders will compete for their remaining track titles of Pursuit, 500m TT, Sprint and Scratch Race.
Please note as these are Championship events, a 3 week closing date will apply:
Closing date for entries to Welsh Track Champs @ Newport: 10th August.
Eligibility to compete for Welsh Championship Titles:
(a) was born in Wales, or
(b) is the son or daughter of a person born in Wales, or
(c) has had his/her main place of residence continuously in Wales for at least five years prior to the first day of January in the year in which he/she wishes to compete, or
(d) is a first claim member of a club or team affiliated to the Union and has been so for a period of not less than three months immediately prior to the event.
