Miller Claims Second National Title!

Posted 21/07/08

Congratulations to Ruby Miller (Maindy Flyers) who dominated the National Mountain Bike Championships to claim the female Youth title!

Miller is proving to be an off-road expert, having previously won the National Cyclo Cross title earlier this year with a similarly strong performance.

At the weekend, the young rider from Llantwit Major won by over three minutes on the twisty, testing Hampshire course.

Ruby said ""I am overjoyed about winning as I've been focusing on this for some time.  I am so pleased as I knew it was going to be a tough battle between me and Hannah Barnes but I came through as I worked so hard for it!"

Another young Welsh rider to prove their abilities at this level of competition was Amy Roberts from Llanelli, who at the age of 13 and in only her second season of competition claimed Silver in the Juvenile girls event.

Amy said "I'm really pleased I got Silver.  It was a very hard race and really warm but I just did my best and got through it. I tried to stay close to Bethany Crumpton but she got away from me. It was a great to medal though and I look forward to doing even better next time."
