WHAT A FANTASTIC AFTERNOON!!
HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GOOD TIME
There was a great atmosphere and the racing was fantastic to watch; the course was an interesting mix, fun single track, fast twisting trails with a good climb thrown in for the under 16's; it was challenging and demanding enough for each age group, they all new they had raced and reported back that it was a great.
As you saw we had some fantastic prizes and I would like to thank Fred, Jody and Dave at Pedalabikeaway for their generosity with £40 of Vouchers; along with Raleigh for the Helmets, Speedo and other prizes and Glaxo SmithKline for the Lucozade bottles and Ribena Drinks.
Thank you to all the parents who mucked especially those who took on the lonely responsibility of Marshalling; Alan and the ladies score keeping and signing in; Ben Oliver, Mike Bevan & Dave Llewellyn for arriving early & helping with the safety check and marking out the course; Nicola Anstice for first Aid cover.
Yesterday was the first race the safety check and marking out the course took a bit of time, it had to be done properly! We set up the checking in with a queue of riders hungry to race, the number of riders almost doubled fantastically from 27 definite and a few maybes to more than 50 riders across the age groups, there was an amazing high entry of 18 under 10 riders.
