Event: Festival of Cycling 28th July - 5th August 2007

28th July through to the 5th August 2007 sees Wales hosting its largest ever Cycling Festival for all.  The venue for this unique week of cycling events in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK which encompasses the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and Welsh Marches.

Organisers under the Welsh Cycling banner CC Abergavenny, and Pendragon Sports aim to get more people involved in cycling be it taking part in a cyclosportive, MTB Enduro, Road Race, Time Trail or spectating at the Elite Circuit Race and the Premier Calendar Robert Price Grand Prix of Wales.

The Abergavenny Cycling Festival offers something for everyone who owns a bike. Over 8 cycling events will be organised locally throughout the week, with some suitable for novices and occasional cyclists.

Shorter Charity and family rides will be on offer alongside more challenging events which will appeal to cycling enthusiasts, including the awesome triple challenge of completing the Tour of the Black Mountains Sportive, the Black Mountain MTB Enduro and the Iron Mountain Sportive.  There will also be various races and club rides throughout the week for those wanting to fill their schedule culminating in the Grand Prix of Wales on the 5th August at which it is hoped that all visitors will stay to support and watch the Elite of British Cyclists as they battle it out on the roads of South East Wales.
