NICOLE COOKE CELEBRATION SPECTACULAR!
In celebration of Nicole Cooke’s fantastic Olympic achievement, her home village of Wick plays host to an afternoon of carnival celebration on Saturday 30th August.
Young riders will enjoy the opportunity to race a ‘Dirt Criterium’ on the village green, judged by Nicole herself! Riders can take part on any bike and categories will cater for youngsters from Under 8’s through to Under 14’s.
There will also be a novelty race for Nicole to test her abilities against Wick’s own village residents!!!
Riders are also encouraged to enjoy a ‘celebratory cavalcade’, preceding Nicole around the village on a vintage open top bus!
Activities throughout the afternoon will enjoy media coverage from both BBC and ITV Wales, and over 1000 well-wishers are expected to enjoy the celebrations including food stands, live bands and other fun activities.
A timetable for the celebrations;
1.30pm Celebration cavalcade (ALL cyclists welcome!)
3.00pm Under 8’s Dirt Criterium
3.20pm Under 12’s Dirt Criterium
3.40pm Under 14’s Dirt Criterium
4.00pm Prizegiving presented by Olympic Champion Nicole Cooke!
