Welsh riders get GB call!

This May sees the 11th running of the Paralinpiko Bizkaiko Bira cycling event for Paralympic Athletes with disabilities other than Visually Impaired, in Bilbao (Spain), over the three days from 29th April.

 

Great Britain will be amongst the nations taking part with a strong team riding the stage race as part of their final preparation for the Visa Paralympic World Track Cup in Manchester on 11th May 2007.

 

 

Team GB will have a Welsh flavour this year with Russ White (LC1) returning to the Basque country once more and hoping to improve on last years result. This year he will be accompanied by fellow Welshman Simon Richardson (LC3), receiving his first outing in a GB jersey having had an excellent domestic season in 2006.

 

 

It's not going to be all fun in the Spanish sun as day one starts with a 43.5km road race in the morning and a kilometer time trial at the velodrome in the evening to finish off the day. The 2nd day is the prologue with an 8km time trial, with the final day seeing the riders engaged in a 52.5km road race.
