Welsh Cyclo-cross League Standings Prior to the Final Round

20071202_Welsh_Cross_Champs_03

This weekend's final round, Maindy Flyers' Christmas 'Cross, will be the decider in a close fought series for many categories (best 5 to count). It will take place at Blackweir Park, Cardiff on 16th December, although signing on and changing will be at Maindy Stadium so allow sufficient time to get between the two.

Daren Williams (Abergavenny RC) leads the senior standings, just three points ahead of Richard Bowen (Gateway RT). With several riders taking time out from the Welsh League to take part in National Trophy events, this could change dramatically on the day with late qualifiers for the series. Nina Davies (Ogmore Valley Whlrs) holds an unassailable lead in the women's category with Matthew Jones being the lead and only junior qualifying for the series at the moment.

Thomas Walker (Abergavenny RC) has been unbeaten in the U16 category, with Jack Llewellyn (M&D Cycles) not far behind on points in the U14. Elinor Barker (Maindy Flyers) leads the girls. Sam Beckingsale and Ffion James (Abergavenny RC) lead the U12s. The U10 category is sure to be a nail biting finish, with Jessica Roberts (Towy Riders) leading by just one point over Amy Hinchly (Maindy Flyers). Jack Broadley (Maindy Flyers) is the lead U10 boy.
