Podium places for Welsh 'cross riders at National Trophy Round 2
Performances by Welsh riders bode well for the upcoming Inter-Area Team Championships.
Congratulations to Anthony O'Boyle, Ben Simmons and Ruby Miller who gave podium-placing performances at Round 2 of the National Trophy Series at a wet Chantry Park in Ipswich on Sunday. Anthony and Ben were 2nd and 3rd U23s respectively, finishing just outside the top 10 in the Senior race and Ruby missed out on a first National Trophy win by just 4 seconds to place 2nd girl in the Youth race.
With Lee Williams also having an outstanding race to 8th placed Senior, Wales has a strength in depth in its Senior Inter-Area team which could see them break their long run of 4th places at this year's event. Although without Sam Harrison (7th U16), the Youth Team could also do well, with Miller and 5th U14 Boy Jack Llewellyn on board. And the Veteran Team will give it everything in defence of their Championship title.
The Inter-Area Championships will be held on Sunday 4th November at Misterton Hall, Lutterworth, Leicestershire LE17 4JP (J20 M1) with racing starting at 11am. Any support on the day will be very welcome.
