Updates from East Newport Cycle Speedway

 

 

East Newport held their annual AGM at Underwood Leisure Centre.

 

The meeting was well attended & reports were read out by all Committee members.

 

There was a new position brought into the Club Travel Manager. The Committee is as follows.

 

Chairman : Richard Hughes

Secretary : Rob Absalom

Treasurer : Bev Hughes

Child Welfare : Andy Cobley

Travel Manager : Ian Sizer

B Team Manager : Andy Price

Junior representatives : Louis Harvey / Aaron Hughes

 

The Club would like to thank Mandy Absalom for her help in  raising  funds during 2007 & help assist with the treasurers role. The Club would also like to welcome Andy Price as B Team Manager, Andy said this will be new to me, but with the help I will get from Nigel & Ian its a job I will enjoy. The Club have arranged 2 pre season matches against Filton 9th March away 16th March home & he will assist in both matches.

 

Training will now take place on a Sunday 12pm to 3pm until start of racing season, then on a Tuesday & Thursday.. Club Coach Pete Sadler will be organising circuit training for Thursdays at Underwood Leisure Centre. The Club are also in the progress of obtaining Go Ride & then go on to Club Mark which is a great achievement as they go into there 3rd year of racing.
