posted01/08/08
After much demand Welsh Cycling are putting on a UKCC Level 1 course at Newport Stadium.
The Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Cycling is the entry-level award into the British
Cycling Coach Education Programme.
This new qualification, developed in conjunction with 1st4sport Qualifications, is accredited on the National Qualifications Framework and endorsed by the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC); therefore is a nationally recognised qualification.
Overview
The L1CCC is aimed at people new to coaching and cycling. This qualification provides you with an introduction to the principles of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of cycling sessions. The certificate qualifies you to independently prepare for, deliver and review pre-prepared coaching sessions to groups of adults or children in an indoor/outdoor, traffic-free environment. The work of coaches at this level will be vital in ensuring that everyone involved in cycling at the grass roots level has a positive and enjoyable experience, while developing their basic cycling techniques.
The course will be held at Newport Stadium, Newport International Sports Village.
Day 1 is on October 26th.
Day 2 on November 23rd
We are also running another Level 2 course out of Maindy Cardiff.
Day 1/2 October 4th/5th
Day 3 January 10th 2009.
