Great new BMX track opened at Ponciau banks
Welsh Cycling Director and expert track builder, Jason Carpenter, were on hand for the opening of the new BMX track at Ponciau Banks in Rhosllanerchrugog near Wrexham on Tuesday.
The facility, which was also visited during the day by new North Wales Cycling development officer Jon Harland, is a purpose built fun pump track for everyone to enjoy. Wrexham County Borough Council will now be hosting an open evening on the evening of Tuesday 26th September to see if an accredited club can be set up at the venue.
Thanks to our friends at Dragon Downhill, there is a great video of the new track, as well as some photos that can be viewed here: >>>>
Whilst this new track is getting going, Brynback Park BMX track, a national standard facility with an air powered start gate, is also really developing with the aimed launch of a new club. The riders meet at the venue on Tuesdays from 5pm whilst the summer hours hold out, and then from 10.00am to 12 noon in the winter.
All are welcome and for more details please contact Jason direct here: jason.carpenter@dsl.pipex.com
