Ian Gough returns to Newport to try his luck on the steep boards of Newport Velodrome in conjunction with the Iceland funded Track Attack Cymru project.
The Ospreys and Wales rugby star is returning to his home town of Newport to give track cycling a go. Gough is a keen cyclist and enjoys riding around the Gower as part of his pre season training and for recovery sessions.
"I enjoy cycling in my spare time and have been trying to get across to the Velodrome since it opened. It's really great that Newport has such a unique facility available to the public especially as it is helping to get more children involved in sport".
Ian will be attending the session on May 28th at Newport Velodrome before heading out to South Africa on tour with Team Wales.
During all school holidays Welsh Cycling, in conjunction with Iceland, will be putting on Track Attack Cymru sessions, giving opportunities for children aged 8-14 to make the most of Wales' only Velodrome.
They have the chance to try out the fixed gear bikes with no brakes as well as seeing if they can ride the 43 degree slopes of the track. The session will be made up of many skills finishing off with a timed individual lap.
