Development
The WCU employs two Development Officers to cover Wales (one North, one South Wales). Their aim is to work with existing and new clubs, schools and other organisations to promote cycling as a sport and pastime - especially among the young.
The two Development Officers are responsible for implementing the Go-Ride development programme across Wales. The programme ensures that selected Primary and Secondary Schools across Wales receive quality Coaching sessions from a qualified club coach. The Schools are then linked in with a local Go-ride club who offer regular Coaching session for all standards of young cyclists.
The Development Officers help and assist Cycling Clubs in order to be recognised as a registered Go-ride club, and then to work towards achieving the highest status of a Go-Ride accredited club.
