Manchester Velodrome Update

News Posted: 8 May 2008

There is an extra SQT session this Sunday 11th May between 8.00-10.00pm for all accredited riders. The cost £9.30 and there is no need to book in advance.

Next Wednesday 14th May, the track will be closed in the evening for the Eastlands session and the Derny SQT. This is because of the UEFA Cup final that evening across the road in the City of Manchester Stadium. The next Derny session will be on Wednesday 28th May.

The track is also shut for the weekend of 17th/18th May for all sessions. This is for the Cheerleaders Championships. On Friday 16th May, there will be restricted access across the track for coaches and riders, as drapes will be hung from roof trusses as backdrops for the track centre.

There is also a change to the SQT Sprint sessions on alternate Wednesdays. They will now be Sprint/Keirin sessions, with an extra coach/pacer riding the Derny, to give all riders three Derny races. It is hoped to provide this at all future Sprint SQT's, depending on Coach/Pacer availability. There is new session cost for this, £10.80 per rider. If there is no Keirin training due to coaches not being available to ride the Derny, it will revert to £9.30 for that evening.
