Championships to Go Ahead As Planned
News Posted: 30 March 2008
The first European Masters Track Cycling Championships will go ahead as planned at Manchester Velodrome between Monday 28th July and Saturday 2nd August.
Uncertainty surrounded the future of the Championships following the sad and untimely death of organiser Brian Cossavella, but after discussion with many of the long time World Masters officials Martin Bridgwood will move over from Technical Manager to promote the Championships as Brian and he had been planning.
Overwhelming support has come forward from so many riders and officials who want these championships to go ahead as a fitting tribute to a man who many regarded as the champion of Masters Track Cycling.
Entry information, regulations and accommodation details will be available very shortly on the masters website www.cyclingmasters.com
The Championships will be run very much along the lines of the World Masters that were promoted at Manchester for 12 years and will also include a scratch race finale on the last day of competition in honour of Brian Cossavella (Link: Tributes to Brian Cossavella).
