2007 Track Race Season Round Up

 

2007 was yet another fantastic year for track racing. The GB riders were awarded for their efforts both on and off the track, with medals pouring in and Victoria Pendleton achieving status as Sportswoman of the Year. The Revolution series continued to gain momentum and has put track cycling at the top of the social calendar. On this page you will find links to reports from track races across the range.  

 

REVOLUTION

20080107_Revolution19_Lead_60The Revolution Series has really gone from strength to strength in 2007. It has pitted some of the World's leading cyclists against each other creating exciting and dramatic racing action, whilst also establishing itself as a real social occasion for track cycling fans. 2007 saw four fantastic Revolution meetings, and British Cycling was there to bring you all the action.

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

20071005_Track_Champs_D4_60British Cycling covered all the action as it unfolded from the British Championships, bringing you reports, results and images from the events. The National Track Championships saw all the big names from British Cycling out on the track, with a few of our track heroes smashing their PBs. The action from the National Madison Champs, Masters Champs, Junior Champs and Scottish Champs was also reviewed.

PARALYMPIC EVENTS

20070822_Disablity_Ellen-Aileen_60GB's Paralympians were also achieving great results in 2007, setting a few World Records along the way. The Disability GP of Wales saw international paralympics cyclists from as far afield as Australia descend upon Newport, whilst the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester saw the Brits dominate the event.

TRACK OPENS

20070406_Good_Friday_60Talented riders and experienced officials made for exciting viewing in the 2007 Track Opens, even though the typical British summertime wasn't always on cycling's side. British Cycling was there to open the season at the Good Friday Track Meeting, which attracted big riders and even bigger audiences, before travelling on to Mildenhall, Dudley and Richmond to report on the action.

NEWS AND FEATURES
