WCU Youth Open Track Session

Youth A, B, C category riders were invited to come along to Newport Velodrome today for a Group skills session and Coach led racing, a welcome escape from the freezing weather.

The open track session coached by two Talent Team coaches, James Taylor & Stuart Macdonald; The riders were put through their paces enjoyed close order skills manoeuvring around the breath of the track, controlled points and scratch racing pushing their track confidence and speed to the limit; they took this excellent opportunity to train with the Welsh Talent Team who themselves have been enjoying success in the Future Stars races at Manchester's Revolutions and the recent National and Welsh Cyclo Cross series.

With these youth riders looking now to next year's competition, the work will be put in over the winter months that will shock your couch potato, filling in the winter evenings on their trainer or down to the track, ready for next Spring's Omniums, Circuit and Mtb races.

It was a great session to remind them of their aspirations and targets prior to their Christmas Pudding.
