Future Revolution took place on Saturday and Sunday 13-14th October at the Newport Velodrome. The enthusiastic audience was treated to action from some of the finest young cyclists from England, Wales and Scotland as they competed against teams from Holland and the USA.

Craig MacLean, Chris Hoy and Ross Edgar added a touch of glamour to the racing on Saturday afternoon with some fantastic match sprinting and a team sprint featuring riders from the DHL Sprint School, several of whom were only just 12!

The DHL Sprint School riders started the day off with a morning of Keirin heats as they battled for places in the final during Future Revolution.  With DHL Sprint School mentor Craig MacLean supported by Chris Hoy and Ross Edgar providing encouragement and joining the youngsters on the track the competition was fierce and the standard of racing just incredible when you consider many of those taking part had never even ridden a banked track when they started the schools in February.

With commentary from Hugh Porter and music from CK, the atmosphere was electric when the event kicked off at 2pm on Saturday. The programme included: Sprints, Derny racing and Eliminations before finishing with some very slick Madisons. Moving on to Sunday, the format remained the same, with impressive sprinting, scratch races, Keirin and Derny racing before, once again finishing with the Madisons.

The whole weekend was a fantastic success, thoroughly enjoyed by the riders, stars and audience. Moving on to Revolution, the first of which takes place on October 20th, many of the young riders will be taking part in the Future Stars events over the coming season and Craig, Chris and Ross will be competing against a host of other stars too.
