Day 5

Day 4

Friday, 18th of August, 2006: It was a dramatic day at the Newport velodrome for day of the British Cycling Junior & Youth Track Championships. First, there was an historic dead heat in the Pursuit with Jonathon Bellis and Steven Burke finishing with the same time and then in the Under Women's Scratch race, a final lap crash saw the hopes ended for riders such as Helen Scott and Jo Wilman to name but two who fell and in the confusion that reigned, contender Jessica Varnish sat up which may have cost her the gold. And that's just two of the races held during the day! We have results and will have a report and pictures later. >More

Day 3

Thursday, 17th of August, 2006: After three days of competition, there is no doubt that the bar has been raised in what it takes for young riders to win National Championships and that can only be good for the riders who are looking to represent their country in 2012 at the London Olympics. There were many highlights from the racing on day 3 and one of those included the win in the Men's Junior Scratch Race by Adam Blyth, Hannah Mayho's winning the Under 16 Womens Pursuit and Jonathon Dibben's comprehensive victory in the Under 12 Omnium. >More

Day 2

Wednesday, 16th of August, 2006: Britain's newly crowned World Junior Champions showed today how they had earnt their stripes in Belgium last week when they raced to victories in the British Cycling Junior and Youth National Track Championships in Newport. In the Youth categories there was a glimpse of the riders who may well be representing Great Britain in future years - in these races the level of competition was very high indeed. >More

Day 1

Tuesday, 15th of August, 2006: Titles for Jo Rowsell and Andrew Fenn on day 1 >More
