The forecast was not good for day 2 of the Dudley International Grand Prix at Halesowen. Everyone sheltered until the rain subsided, however, the finish line was saturated and there was a 3 hour wait for racing to commence

CC Giro's Beth Clayton got racing underway in the first event of the National Women's Omnium. Clayton's time for the 500m TT was 44.09s setting a good standard for all the other competitors

Planet X's Janet Birkmyre (above) and City of Edinburgh RC's Kate Cullen battled it out for top spot in the Omnium 500m TT. Birkmyre won with 39.49s as Cullen has to settle for second with 40.24s in the windy conditions.

Cullen levelled the Omnium Points total by winning the 8km Scratch Race as Birkmyre settled for 2nd

Dan Woolfenden leads out in the early laps of the Devil. There were some close calls by the judges throughout the race but Bob Pinkerton was there to confirm the results. James McCallum of theBicycleworks.com took the victory

The International Keirin saw 4 heats completed. Heat 1 was led out by Britain's Marco Librizzi (above) but he was out-sprinted by Spain's Itmar Esteban and Holland's Sebastiaan Baanders who took 1st and 2nd respectively.

Heat 2 saw Elisha Greene sticking close to the Derny (above). The tactic paid off (below) as Greene powered his way to the finish line well clear of Holland's Jelger Bisschop and Britain's Nick Walford.

Heat 3 was led out by the powerful Dutchman Ynse Taylor, however Britain's Dan Woolfenden beat Taylor to the line and Britain's Simon Allen was 3rd.

Heat 4 saw the Spaniard Antoni Clua lead out and he showed his strength by out sprinting Britain's John McClelland and Jamie Streather who took 2nd & 3rd respectively.

The heavens opened up again as CC Giro's Beth Clayton took to the track in the Pursuit event of the National Women's Omnium.

UCI Commissaire President Trevor Reade had to announce the unfortunate end to this year's Dudley International Grand Prix.
