The National Masters Track Championships is the highlight of the year for the Over 30's and for the second year running was held at the popular Hertfordshire outdoor velodrome at Welwyn Garden City. British Cycling was there for all three days to report back on each day's events.

The first day of the Sprint competition for the 2006 British Cycling Masters Track Championships saw a few upsets during a long day at the Welwyn Garden City Track. Here is a list of today's champions with a link to the full results courtesy of Willi Tarran and Susan Farnes:

The second day of the Masters championships was a long day for riders and officials, starting at 10.30am and not finishing
until 8.30pm that night so congratulations to everyone's endurance for lasting the distance. I'll be bringing you results and
then whatever else we can before I have to call it a morning as the final day is expected to be just as long.

After a delay of two hours because of rain, the sky brightened up for the final day of the Masters Championships where the titles in the Pursuit and Scratch races were decided. My thanks to all the officials who worked long days to ensure the racing was completed, the organiser Graham Bristow for making it happen and the riders for some exciting races during the afternoon.
