The first day of the Sprint competition for the 2006 British Cycling Masters Track Championships saw a few upsets during a long day at the Welwyn Garden City Track. There was even a dead heat, just one example of how close some of the racing was and like all good sprint racing, there was also the odd bit of physical stuff with one or two riders being relegated just to give the day a bit of everything. Including some rain which stopped the racing twice but at the end for the presentation, the sun was out and everyone is looking forward to two more days racing.
