adidas and British Cycling announce supply deal

 British Cycling, the internationally recognised governing body of cycle sport in the UK, and adidas today announced a supply deal which will see adidas become the official outfitters of the Great Britain Cycling Team through to the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

As the Great Britain Cycling Team departs for the World Track Championships in Los Angeles, Dave Brailsford, British Cycling's Performance Director said: adidas's long term commitment to the GB Cycling Team is further evidence of the progress we are making and our standing as a nation in cycling. We believe that adidas's expertise can make a significant contribution to the Team as we seek to fulfil our ambition to be the number one cycling nation.

Robin Money, Head of Sports Marketing, adidas UK said: "adidas is proud to be working with British Cycling and helping them to build on the Great Britain Team's impressive feats in Athens. We wish the team every success in this month's World Track Championships and beyond.

The British Cycling deal confirms the strong position that adidas is developing in British and world cycling. adidas recently signed an endorsement deal with Athens Gold, Silver and Bronze medallist Bradley Wiggins and is the official outfitter of both the French and German cycling federations. The specialist cycle manufacturer Mavic is also part of the adidas-Salomon group. 

 The Great Britain Cycling Team will wear their new adidas apparel for the first time during the World Track Championships in Los Angeles on 24th to 27th March.
