Great Britain’s national mapping agency joins up with Britain’s biggest professional bike race
Organisers of The Tour of Britain are delighted to announce a three-year partnership which sees Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s national mapping agency, become Official Partners of the race. Under the agreement, The Tour of Britain will gain access to Ordnance Survey data and mapping, which will prove hugely valuable to the planning and execution of The Tour of Britain over the next three years.

Commenting on the agreement, Tour of Britain Commercial Manager Alastair Grant said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Ordnance Survey on board as Official Partners and look forward to working with them closely over the next three years. The Tour of Britain is an event that aims to promote the “best of British” from both a sporting and commercial perspective, and we are delighted to enter into partnership with another iconic British brand in Ordnance Survey. The level of data and mapping expertise they will be providing will be immensely valuable to us, and allow The Tour of Britain to continue to go from strength to strength.”

James Brayshaw, Director at Ordnance Survey said: “Ordnance Survey and the Tour of Britain are pleased to announce a three year partnership agreement. As Great Britain’s national mapping agency, Ordnance Survey will be the official mapping partner for the race and will provide support both during the planning phases and the race itself. Ordnance Survey is delighted to be involved with the UK’s premier professional cycle stage road race and looks forward to a mutually beneficial partnership.”

The 2008 Tour of Britain begins in central London on Sunday 7th September and finishes a week later in the centre of Liverpool on Sunday 14th September.
