Team www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis Racing Team have announced the completion of its 2009 National Team with the signing of Leicestershire based elite rider Rob Orr. The 28 year old Orr came into cycling just 3 years ago to help with fitness whilst treating a long term injury from international running. After a successful season cycle racing in the UK in 2005 he rapidly rose through the British Cycling rankings before taking up a full time cycling career in France in 2006 and 2007. During his time in France he rode for CC Plancoet. However 2008 turned out to be a bad year for Orr as the team he signed for collapsed, and he came down with Glandular Fever, writing off most of his season.

Orr said upon joining the team "I am excited about this team, it's riders, camaraderie and sponsors. I am particularly glad to be representing www.cyclingbargains.com as they have the ambition and drive to continue building a strong team. My main focus will be the Premier Calendar, Elite Circuit Races and The Rutland-Melton Cicle Classic, though after my 2008, in 2009 I will also be happy to simply be racing again. The team has some good backers and we will be riding Kinesis Racelight frames with Catlike helmets which are quality brands so I am delighted to be using them."

Naming his National line up Team Manger Rod Freeman said, "There has been a lot of speculation recently on teams for 2009. Although we aren't in the same league as the big four, we hope to be mixing it with them in the UK's top cycle races next year. Rob brings a lot of experience to the team for Premier Calendar races and gives 100% to all he does. We are honoured to have a rider of Rob's calibre on board and have already spent quite a bit of time looking into the races the National Team will ride next year. We hope the depth we now have in Rob, Matt, Raph, Dan and Carl will secure us entry into the Tour of Britain Circuit Race series this summer."

Another key signing
Another key signing in a further move to strengthen their 2009 squad was the signing of another high profile East Midlands based rider. Loughborough based rider, Raphael Deinhart from Stuttgart will join other high profile local riders Dan Booth, Matt Jennings and Carl Dyson as part of the teams new National set up for 2009.

Having completed a degree in Sports Science at Loughborough earlier this year, Deinhart will now take up a full time position with the team and concentrate on British Cycling's Premier Calendar and Elite Circuit Race series. One of his key aims is to improve on his 17th place in last years top one day international race, that takes place in April, in Leicestershire, Cicle Classic. Deinhart can't rule out a top eight place in this years event as UCI points would make him eligible to ride the German National Championships.

Deinhart progressed quickly in 2007 to secure his 1st category licence and will end 2008 as the 29th highest placed 1st category rider in the country. He also secured 10th highest ranked rider in the East Midlands this year. Securing 6 podium places in races this year including winning two, Deinhart also came 8th in the Regional Championships, 6th in the local Duncan Murray Wines Road Race, 10th at the Brentwood Elite Circuit Race as well as a number of top 30 places in Premier Calendar Races throughout the country.

Deinhart said upon joining www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis Racing Team, "I am really excited to have joined the team. I feel it will be the best team in the East Midlands next year and I think we can turn some heads at National Races as well. On a personal level I want to continue developing as a bike rider and bring home some top results for the team"

Team Manager, Rod Freeman said " Raphael is a top class East Midlands rider and I remain committed to developing local talent. I am sure the team around Raphael will help him deliver his aims for next year and we welcome him on board. The development of a National level team within the squad is new for us for 2009 and we plan to have six riders who can compete in Premier Calendar events, Elite Circuit Races and hopefully the Tour of Britain Circuit Races as well. Most of these are televised races and we believe the results we can gain will offer our sponsors excellent exposure."

Matt Jennings signs as well!
Ranked 31st among the UK first category licence holders, Jennings clearly brings a wealth of experience to the growing team, whilst continuing their trend for supporting East Midlands based riders, as he is ranked 8th across the region. Jennings secured five podium places in road races this year including winning circuit races and coming 2nd in the divisional road race championships. Jennings also made it onto Eurosport TV coverage in the Cicle Classic, in April after spending a large part of the race in an early break.

Speaking on his plans for 2009 with www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis Racing Team he sights his aims as being to ride a number of Premier Calendar and National Circuit race events with the team and hopefully to make the TV screens again in the East Midlands Cicle Classic and the new Tour of Britain town centre races. Jennings joins a strong team line up now including local riders Dan Booth, Carl Dyson and Mike Cowland.

Team Manager, Rod Freeman said "We have developed a lot since we started in 2006 and are all really excited about plans for next year. We hope to grow on our achievements this year and I believe we have a strong group of riders, supported by a great back up staff, who are able to achieve this. Matt is a major part of our plans for 2009 and we are delighted to have him on board."

The squad consists solely of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire riders and is made up of:

Matthew Jennings (36)
Raphael Deinhart (21)
Daniel Booth (28)
Carl Dyson (23)

Team Souignor is 21 year old, newly qualified physiotherapist Ben Jeeves and Rod Freeman is team manager with over 25 years experience at road and time trial racing. The team have one first year junior rider who has had an excellent youth career who will join the team from January. He is currently training with some of our national riders and is a strong hope for the future of the team.
