Introducing Scotland's Endura Racing
Story posted November 26
Scottish based team Endura Racing, started their season with a 3 day training camp at the Wheels of Callander cycling centre in the scenic Trossachs region in Scotland. Evolving from the PedalPower.org.uk/Endura racing team, Endura Racing has added some new riders to the roster this year and has applied to register UCI Continental for 2009.
The team is Gary Hand, David Smith, James McCallum, Duncan Urquhart, Scott Macrae, Gordon Murdoch, David Lines, Callum Wilkinson and Kevin Barclay. With the introduction of James McCallum (former circuit race champion), Duncan Urquhart (Premier Calendar event winner) and David Smith the team will be stronger and in a better position to develop up and coming Scottish riders like Kevin Barclay and Callum Wilkinson.

The change in team name has come as a result in Endura increasing their sponsorship of the team after the success of the 2008 season. Part of the new sponsorship deal is for the riders to provide feedback on the new clothing to the product development team at Endura. The objective of the team in 2009 will be to perform to a level in the Premier Calendar and UCI events to gain an entry into the Tour of Britain.

The 3 day training camp was a relaxed affair to get the new members of the team integrated with the riders and staff. The itinerary for the camp was
- 3 easy group rides where the team practiced some basic group skills
- Wheel change and support team practice
- A meeting with Endura and Extreme Nutrition sponsors
- A meeting to discuss the team and individual rider goals for the season
- Power analysis and review of training peaks software
