Whilst other Elite Racing Teams are in the process of obtaining funding for the forthcoming season, Team Corley Cycles/Alpha Road Club presented a cheque for £6,500 to Willen Hospice (Milton Keynes) in respect of their racing results in 2008. For every point the riders obtain, the sponsors pay £1 to the hospice, and after a succesful season, including numerous top placings in Premier Calender Events and Matt Higgins winning the National Masters Road Race Championship, team sponsor Phil Corley was only to happy to part with the cash.
"I feel we are unique as all our riders, from elite to 4th cat agree to donate all their bonuses to the fund, which we are quite rightly proud of, and we aim to continue this in the future." Team captain Roy Chamberlain is hoping for another succesful season in 2009,including several racing excursions to their continental base in Normandy.
