Event Date: 30 Aug 2008

As part of the Salford Nocturne on Saturday 30th August, British Cycling are holding some exciting youth activities taking place from 3 - 5pm. The activities will include:

  • Go-Ride skills course - this is a test of both time and ability to perform skills correctly.  Compare your times, and see if you can improve them!
  • Go-Ride Time trial - a fast and furious 500 metre time trial taking place over part of the Salford Nocturne course that is being used for the elite event later on in the evening.

There will be prizes for all, and special prizes for the fastest in each youth category.  All participants have to complete a parental consent form before taking part in the Go-Ride events and return it to the coaches on the day.  Riders can bring along their own bikes and helmets to take part in the Go-Ride events, or we will have a supply of mountain bikes and helmets for those that don't bring theirs.

There will be lots of other activities going on and plenty of Olympic medallists present, including Chris Hoy, Ed Clancy and Geriant Thomas and Chris Newton, all fresh from their success in Beijing.  They will be involved in a special presentation at 6pm.

All Go-Ride activities are free of charge, and run by fully qualified coaches that are CRB checked.

Please contact Alex Scoular on 07793 844651 or alexscoular@britishcycling.org.uk should you require any further information regarding the Go-Ride events on the day.
