The Pinarello RT riders will be in the pink when they take to the road in the Tour of Britain with Canditv stepping in to back the Staffordshire based team. The man behind the new backers, Kevin Griffiths, 32 is an awarding winning businessman whose four year old company Data Driven Logistics provides logistics software systems and whose customers include Tesco Direct, DHL, Philips and Carphone Warehouse.

If the name seems familiar, it should, Kevin is the son of the man behind Pinarello RT, Phil Griffiths.
He decided to use his father's cycling passion as a mobile advertising mechanism to bring his new venture to public attention with Canditv emblazoned in pink on their jerseys and the rear of their shorts.
They will also be seen being worn by this season's top winner Russell Downing and Tour de France veteran Malcolm Elliott and the rest of the team when they take to the road in next month's Tour of Britain against some of the top teams in the world of cycling as one of only three British teams in the 16 team line up for the London start on Sept 7th. ITV will show an hour of daily TV highlights every evening.
Griffiths junior is putting a five figure sum into the Pinarello team which up to now has been backed by companies for which Griffiths senior is an importer through his Yellow operation. This new backing will it is hoped attract more backers to enable the team to expand and allowing them into important European races like the Tour of Britain.

Kevin said: "I am delighted to back my father's team. It will initially run through to the end of 2008. This is a hard headed business decision, Canditv is too important for us to base our decision on sentiment. Our sponsorship has got to show a return. But we want to be in for the long term. Hopefully Canditv will grow along with Pinarello RT. Initially our name will appear on the jerseys below Pinarello and on the backside of the shorts which will see the red on the kit changing to pink. By finalising this sponsorship in time for the Tour of Britain we hope to get maximum exposure on the roads round the country and of course on TV."
Griffiths senior said:"We have been looking for extra backers for the team for sometime and had spoken to Kevin about it and then when he launched this new venture I was obviously delighted that he had confidence to come on board with us. I am sure it can only be good news for both of us."
Kevin has applied for a patent for Canditv which he describes as a unique technology that bridges the gap between the internet and mobile phones which is of particular use to people when out of home or the office.
