Girvan Stage Race 2008

Event Dates: 22-24 March

It's one of the toughest Road Races in the UK. Held over the Easter holiday weekend, the 2008 race will be contested over four separate stages totalling around 250 miles. A field of around 100 riders is expected to take to the roads of Ayrshire and Galloway for the 39th edition of this classic event.

The 2007 field enjoys the sunshine and open roads of this classy event

It takes place in an area of great beauty but also of remoteness and occasionally foul weather. It's also that rarity mongst British events, a stage race. Don't forget, along with the rest of the Premier Calendar, it's televised through funding from British Cycling and can be seen on both Eurosport and Cycling.tv

The race has an excellent website of its own at http://www.girvanrace.info/ where you can find out everything you need to know about this great race.

The race consists of four stages - three long road stages and a circuit race in the town of Girvan itself. See below for details of the epic scope of the race's longer stages, plus a full start list.
