The South East Region team of Luke Rowe, Erick Rowsell, Thomas Copeland, Adam Blythe and Toby Meadows were in action in Belgium on Sunday at the Juniors version of the Omloop Het Volk. Eleven riders, including Rowe, went clear on the first climb after just eight kilometers. Their lead reached a maximum of 2'02". Some small attacks from the chasers never reached closer than 30" from the leaders.

The front group split in the last kilometer, Rowe (European Team Pursuit champion, Junior) managed to escape with the Belgian, Jelle Wallaeys and Kirill Pozdnyakov of Russia. It was now down to a three man sprint with the Russian getting the victory over Wallaeys. Rowe, a first year Junior rode an excellent race for third position. The rest of the team all finished safely in the peloton, good enough infact to claim second in the team classification behind Lithuania.
