Prologue
Winner Mark Christian and right, Luke Rowe.
The Junior Tour of Worcester, the third of the National Junior Road Race series, got under way on Saturday through the Vale of Evesham with the prologue time trial. 51 Riders started outside Saint Mathews Church in the picturesque village of Salford Priors.
The course over a gently undulating 4.16 km road gave Mark Christian (Glendene/Bike Trax) a vital six second over his nearest rival Douglas Dewey (Team Tor).
The current series leader Peter Kennaugh (Pinarello) crossed the finish line in 6min 54sec and eight seconds adrift of the Prologue Winner. Luke Rowe (Recycling.co.uk) currently 2nd in the series came in with a time of 6min 58sec some 12 seconds down on the Leader. Luke commented before the start that he was hopeful for the overall victory.
