A British Cycling Premier Calendar Event
Promoted by Mersey RC

The 2007 British Cycling Premier Calendar kicked off on March 10 with the Bikeline 2-Day stage race held in North Wales. BritishCycling.org.uk was there to capture the action.

Day 1 (Stages 1 & 2)

20070310_Bikeline2Day_100The day began with a short prologue over 1.6 kilometres and the winner of this was Chris Newton who was fastest ahead of Ian Wilkinson and Fred Johannson. Newton therefore went into the afternoon stage over 56 kilometres in the Bikeline leader’s jersey but the winner of the second stage of the day was Dean Downing who crossed the line ahead of Ian Wilkinson after the two of them escaped the leading break late on in the short stage. Leader going into day 2 is Ian Wilkinson.
