Cavendish Celebrates T-Mobile Contract
2 September 2006
British T-Mobile Team rider Mark Cavendish recorded his second consecutive second place On the fifth stage of the Tour of Britain from Rochester to Canterbury. However, the bigger news for Mark was that before the stage he signed a two-year contract with the prestigious T-Mobile Team as a permanent member. 21 year-old Cavendish had put pen to paper to sign his first full-time contract with the T-Mobile Team and confirm his position as one of the brightest young riders around.
T-Mobile Team Director Brian Holm was delighted with the new Team signing: "I have followed Mark's progress over the last year. He is still young but has a very good head on him and a lot of spirit. I think he can flourish into a fantastic rider and he will go far."
