British Cycling Mountain Bike Commission

The British Cycling Mountainbike Commission oversees the sport of Mountainbike racing in Britain and is co-ordinated by British Cycling's Mountainbike Competition administrator. The Commission addresses a wide variety of issues, including International, national and regional level competition, technical regulations, event standards, officials' training, development and the domestic calendar.

The Commission is made up of a number of individuals experienced in the running, officiating and development of Mountainbiking. Commission members are selected for their involvement in sport or are nominated by fellow commission members when a particular position becomes available.

	Dan Critchlow Role Downhill male rider's representative Club/Team: CRC/Intense Lives in: Stoke on Trent Background: Started racing aged 15 and has raced Pro Elite since 2002. Active Downhill racer at all levels from Regional to World Cup. Dan has worked with race promoters, organising events so has a realistic and well rounded view of what's possible within our sport
	Helen Findlay Role Scottish Cross Country representative Club/Team The Bicycleworks.com Lives in Edinburgh *Background* An Edinburgh based Kiwi, Helen is the Treasurer of the Scottish XC Committee. She is part of the organising team for the Scottish XC Series and also manages the occasional race in the Masters category
	Martyn Salt Role National Cross Country Series and Marathon Championships organiser Club/Team XCRacer.com Lives Plymouth *Background* Martyn has a long organisation background operating primarily out Newnham Park, near Plymouth. Martyn has organised the National Cross country Series, numerous one off large scale endurance events as well as a round of the UCI Cross World Cup during the 1990's. 	Kelvin Hoy Role International Commissaire/Event Standards Club/Team Archer RC Lives London *Background:* Kelvin originally started his involvement with MTB in his native New Zealand, where he raced preferring endurance events. Kelvin then moved into managing a local Bike Shop Team, before moving into race organisation, which Kevin developed and promoted for nearly 5 years. Kelvin then moved to the UK, met a Commissaire at a World Cup in Plymouth and got into the MTB scene here in the UK, which also included working on SAMS for a number of years.
	Adrian Lansley Role Cross Country male rider's representative Club/Team pedalon.co.uk Lives: Basingstoke, Hampshire *Background:* Adrian first raced Cross-Country MTB in 1994, progressing through the Sport and Expert categories to become a regular fixture at the front of national Elite races. Adrian has vast experience of regional, national and international competition.
	Helen Mortimer Role Downhill & 4X Team Manager Club/Team N/A Lives Manchester Background: Helen raced DH, 4X and XC at National and International Levels from 1991 to 2003. A UCI MTB Commission Member and UCI DH/4X Technical Delegate, she is also GB Team Olympic Programmes Manager.
	Tracy Moseley Role Downhill female rider's representative Club/Team Kona Factory Team Lives Malvern, Worcestershire *Background:* Racing MTB Downhill since 1995, Tracy is a multiple National and World Cup winner. She was Britain's first female Downhill World Cup Champion in 2006.
	Ruth Owen-Evans Role Cross Country female rider's representative Club/Team Salsa Factory Race Team Lives Gloucester *Background:* Ruth has been racing XC competitively since 2004 and been involved with many MTB events including the World Cup 2005-2007, World Champs 2007 and the Midlands XC race series 2006-7. Ruth has also been involved in creating a mountain bike event organiser's resource with British Cycling through a major study conducted for her undergraduate degree. She currently works as a Sports Development Officer at the University of Essex.
	Simon Paton Role National Series Downhill Event Promoter Club/Team Descent Gear Lives Birmingham Background: An experienced Downhill and 4X racer, Simon organises the National Downhill Series. Event commentator. Features writer for Pink Bike and MBUK Magazine. Cycle retailer
	Chris Roberts Role National Series Four Cross Event Promoter Club/Team NPS 4X Lives Stourport-on-Severn Worcestershire *Background:* Chris has been organising XC, Duel, DH, and 4X races since 1997 and was Midlands DH Veteran Champion in 2005. He was the organiser of the Midland Super Series 1999 to 2006. A specialist in one-off events including indoor Snow Cross and Urban Downhill street racing, he has also been NPS 4X Series organiser since 2004.
	Tony Williams Role Domestic Commissaire/Event Standards Club/Team Ford Cycling Club Lives Ingatestone, Essex *Background:* Tony started Mountain Biking whilst growing up in North-West Surrey. He first raced XC in 1999 whilst with the Warwick University MTB Club. Still riding and racing, he is now also an active Commissaire and sits on the IMBA national executive committee.
